You might be entitled to British Airways denied boarding compensation if you were denied boarding against your will due to overbooking or other reasons caused by the airline, provided that:
You arrived at the airport on time for check-in and boarding.
You have a confirmed reservation and met all travel requirements.
The flight is departing from an EU/UK airport, or landing at an EU/UK airport and operated by British Airways.

When am I entitled to British Airways lost or damaged baggage compensation?

Compensation rules apply for lost, damaged or delayed baggage too. If your luggage fails to arrive to you on time, or it was lost or damaged by the airline, you can submit a claim for compensation under the following circumstances:
Lost Baggage: If your checked baggage is lost, British Airways must provide you with compensation under the Montreal Convention. If your baggage has not been located within 21 days after your flight, it is officially considered lost, and you are entitled to file a claim for compensation.
Damaged Baggage: If your checked baggage is damaged during transit, you must report the damage immediately upon arrival at the airport by filling out a Property Irregularity Report (PIR). After that, we can submit a formal claim to British Airways for damaged baggage compensation within 7 days after the repot.
Delayed Baggage: If your baggage is delayed, you can ask British Airways to cover the cost of essential items you need while waiting for your luggage. Compensation is determined based on the specific circumstances of the delay.
Compensation is generally limited under the Montreal Convention, up to approximately 1,288 Special Drawing Rights (around €1,500), depending on the value of your baggage and contents.

Extraordinary circumstances: Certain situations fall under extraordinary circumstances that free airlines from compensation obligations. These can include: Air traffic control (ATC) restrictions, bad weather, bird strikes, drone strikes,
security risks, political unrest and many more.
Flights canceled more than 14 days in advance: If the airline notifies you of a cancellation over two weeks before the scheduled departure, you are not eligible for compensation, although you may still receive a refund or a rebooked flight.
Delays under 3 hours: If your flight arrives less than 3 hours late, you will not be entitled to compensation, though you may still be entitled to assistance, such as meals or accommodation, depending on the length of the delay.
How Much is British Airways Flight Delay or Cancellation Compensation?
Compensation amount for canceled or delayed flight is determined by the distance of your flight and the length of the delay. Under EU regulations, the compensation varies as follows:
Flights under 1,500 km: Up to €250 per person
Flights between 1,500 km and 3,500 km: Up to €400 per person
Flights over 3,500 km: Up to €600 per person
