Airlines with the most delays and cancellations in 2025

Air Travel is not always the delightful and soothing experience we'd like, sometimes it faces some issues like flight delays or cancellations. Airlines often experience flight disruptions and 2025 was a difficult year for air travel.

Despite high passenger demand, many airlines struggled with delays and cancellations caused by staffing issues, weather conditions and air traffic control.

Flight disruptions mostly affect passenger's travel plans, that's why we decided to gather information from different aviation sources and give you the list of the least reliable airlines of 2025.

1. Wizz Air

Europe's one of the leading low-cost carrier experienced the most flight delays and cancellations in 2025.  Percentage of Wizz Air's disrupted flights in 2025 was 16.2%, which is an improvement of 22.4 in 2024, however airlines continues to face operational challenges, most notably on high-demand routes.

Most affected routes of the airline were Dublin, Manchester and Belfast. These disruptions were mostly caused by weather conditions and congestion.

2. Ryanair

Ryanair is another top low-cost airline in Europe, operating to over 220 destinations in 37 countries. In 2025, Ryanair reported 7.9% disrupted flights. Just like Wizz Air, it improved last year's 10%, however still ranked as one of the most disrupted airlines in 2025.

The most disrupted destinations were London and Tirana, where heavy passenger traffic and air traffic control restrictions played a role.

3. EasyJet

4. British Airways

In 2025, British Airways disrupted 5% of its flights, a small improvement over last year. However, using busy London airports like Heathrow and Gatwick leads to delays and cancellations.

Routes to London, Orlando and Barcelona were most affected with flights disruptions this year.

5. Turkish Airlines

Turkish Airlines is known for serving more destinations than any other airlines globally. On top of that, using one of the most busiest airports in Europe, makes it difficult to avoid delays and cancellations.

Turkish Airlines had more delays in 2025, with 4.5% of flights disrupted. The most affected flights this year were those traveling to Islamabad, Manchester, and Paris.

6. KLM Royal Dutch Airlines

The flag carrier of Netherlands, KLM is well known for its extensive route network from one of the largest airports in Europe - Amsterdam Schipol. This led the airline to some flight issues during 2025, experiencing 4.2% of flight delays and cancellations over the past year.

The most canceled and delayed destinations were Dublin, Amsterdam and London.

7. Transavia Group

Transavia is one of the most stable airlines when it comes to flight disruptions, however, 2025 was a challenging year for the airline. Increasing it's flight disruptions from 3% in 2024 to 3.6% in 2025, Transavia ranked as 7th least reliable airlines with flight delays and cancellations.

The most disrupted destinations were Paris, Tunisia and Venice.

8. Lufthansa

Germany's largest airline recorded 3.2% of flight delays and cancellations in 2025. Even though Lufthansa is ranked in this list, the airline also became more reliable in 2025, with disruptions dropping from 4% to 3.2%. Lufthansa is working hard to make it's flights more stable and efficient.

Lufthansa's most affected flights were those to Munich, Podgorica and Edinburgh.

9. Air Serbia

Air Serbia's performance stabilized in 2025, with disruptions falling to 3.1% from 4.4% the previous year. Despite operating out of Belgrade - named as one of Europe's most delayed airports this summer - the airline successfully managed broad international network.

The most disrupted routes were Belgrade, Hurghada and Rhodes.

10. Air France

In 2025, Air France's disruption rate improved to 2.9%. While the airline maintains a massive global network, heavy traffic at French airports occasionally causes delays and cancellations.
