FlyOne Flight Delay and Cancellation Compensation

FlyOne delayed or canceled your flight? You could be entitled to compensation - and this guide will help you claim it step by step.

FlyOne is a low-cost Moldovan airline, founded in 2016. The airline is headquartered in Chisinau, Moldova. It operates scheduled flights to 29 European destinations from it's main base at Chisinau Eugen Doga International Airport.

Since FlyOne operates flights in EU countries, it's required to compensate passengers when departing from EU airport, under regulation EC 261/2004, which ensures compensation for passengers affected by any flight disruptions, including flight delays, cancellations or denied boarding.

When Am I Entitled to FlyOne Flight Delay Compensation?

You may be entitled to FlyOne flight delay compensation if the following requirements are satisfied:

Delay Exceeds 3 Hours

If your FlyOne flight arrived more than 3 hours late, you may be entitled to compensation - based on arrival time, not departure.

Flight Origin or Destination is within the EU

Under EC 261/2004, all airlines operating within EU - including FlyOne - are requested to compensate their passengers for significant flight disruptions.

No Extraordinary Circumstances

Compensation is due when the airline is responsible for the delay - such as technical issues, stuff strike, scheduling errors or other operational challenges.

No Alternative Arrangements by the Airline

When an airline doesn't arrange a replacement flight that arrives at a similar time to the original, you may be owed compensation for the delay.

When Am I Entitled to FlyOne Flight Cancellation Compensation?

Wondering if you're eligible for FlyOne flight cancellation compensation? See if you meet the criteria below:

Airline sends cancellation notification less than 14 days before departure

Were you informed of flight cancellation less than 14 days before the scheduled departure date? The you should apply for FlyOne flight cancellation compensation.

Flight Origin or Destination is within the EU

Airlines like FlyOne must comply with EC 261/2004, which mandates compensation for the passengers affected by flight cancellation.

No Extraordinary Circumstances

If FlyOne is responsible for the cancellation and there weren't any extraordinary circumstances such as severe weather, political unrest, airport strike, etc., you're eligible for compensation.

No Suitable Alternative Flight Offered

If you weren't offered a replacement flight that would arrive within specific time limits compared to the original flight, you're due compensation. However, if an alternative flight is offered, compensation is not applicable.

When am I entitled to FlyOne denied boarding compensation?

If FlyOne denied you boarding unwillingly because of overbooking or other airline-related reasons, you may qualify for compensation - if the following criteria apply:

You arrived at the airport on time for check-in and boarding.

You have a confirmed reservation and met all travel requirements.

The flight is departing from an EU airport, or landing at an EU airport and operated by EU airline.

If these conditions are met, and you were denied boarding due to no fault of your own, FlyOne must compensate you under EU Regulation 261/2004, typically ranging from €250 to €600 depending on the flight distance.

When am I entitled to FlyOne lost or damaged baggage compensation?

You can request for compensation for lost, damaged or delayed baggage in the following cases:

Lost Baggage: If your checked baggage is lost, you have the right to claim compensation from FlyOne under the Montreal Convention. If your baggage has not been found within 21 days after your flight, it is officially considered lost, and you are entitled to file a claim for compensation.

Damaged Baggage: If your checked baggage is damaged during transit, you must report the damage immediately upon arrival at the airport by filling out a Property Irregularity Report (PIR). After that, we can submit a formal claim to the airline for damaged baggage compensation within 7 days after the repot.

Delayed Baggage: If your baggage is delayed, FlyOne must cover the cost of essential items you need while waiting for your luggage. Compensation is determined based on the specific circumstances of the delay.

Compensation is generally limited under the Montreal Convention, up to approximately 1,288 Special Drawing Rights (around €1,500), depending on the value of your baggage and contents.

When Am I Not Entitled to FlyOne Compensation?

In certain cases, airlines aren't requested to pay compensation for flight disruptions. These cases include:

Extraordinary circumstances: Events like strikes, political unrest,  and extreme weather conditions fall under extraordinary circumstances. In such cases, FlyOne is free from paying compensation.

Flights canceled more than 14 days in advance: If the airline notifies you of a cancellation over two weeks before the scheduled departure, you are not eligible for compensation, although you may still receive a refund or a rebooked flight.

Delays under 3 hours: If your flight arrives less than 3 hours late, you will not be entitled to compensation, though you may still be entitled to assistance, such as meals or accommodation, depending on the length of the delay.
